What Not To Pack In Your Camper

Packing your camper can get complicated. Besides just the clothing and other personal items that you would bring on any trip, there are also linens, cutlery, and other such items to worry about. With space at such a premium, it’s important that you don’t pack more than you need. Luckily, the experts at Pontiac RV have created this list of tips to help you avoid overpacking your camper.

Too Much Food

Canned goods are popular among camper owners because they last a long time and are fairly inexpensive. However, being so well-preserved can also be a disadvantage. Some cans may end up gathering dust in your pantry, never to be used. While you can still keep a few cans of food around for emergencies, try planning out your meals ahead of the trip. That way you can buy fresh ingredients and create a healthier, tasty meal without crowding up your camper with extra weight.

Excess Kitchen Equipment

You might be surprised by what you can do with just a few sturdy pots and pans, a cast iron skillet, place settings, and some cups. While keeping a few kitchen gadgets around is okay, be sure that they either have multiple uses or you know for a fact that you will be using them every day.

Your Entire Wardrobe

While having a backup outfit in case your clothes get dirty is a good idea, having multiple backup outfits is taking things a bit far. In an emergency situation, things like a first-aid kit or an alternate way to call for help will be far more useful than an extra change of clothes.
